The iPad mini 3 is the third generation of the iPad mini tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple. It was announced alongside the iPad Air 2 on October 16, 2014, and released on October 22, 2014. It uses the same design and hardware as its predecessor, the iPad mini 2. Its new features include the addition of the Touch ID sensor compatible with Apple Pay, different storage sizes, and availability in a gold color, in addition to the previous colors.
